Creating Coded Landing Pages

Coded landing pages allow you to create action forms that will tag submitted contacts with a special main code in Campaign Office Online. This is very helpful for the following purposes:

  • Google Adwords Campaigns - You can create issues based Adwords campaigns that link to an email signup page that will identify contacts with an issue based code. In addition to identifying the contacts you will be able to measure conversion performance for your Adwords campaign.
  • Petition Campaigns - You could create an email signup form that acts like a petition and tag these contacts with a code identifying them as a petition signer.
  • Partner Campaigns - Does another campaign or committee wish to drive people to your site to perform an action? Monitor the performance of their effort by creating coded landing pages that code the contacts by their source. This technique is especially helpful if an issues based ally drives people to your site as you can code these contacts and know that a certain issue is important to them

How To Create Coded Landing Pages

  1. You need to add the code for your contactsLogin to your Campaign Office Online
  2. Click File and Edit Codes
  3. Click Add Item
  4. Now add in the code you wish to identify your contacts with in the empty fields at the bottom of the list:
  5. Press Save. Your Main Code is now stored in the system.
  6. Now you will create the landing page on your website. Login to your site as an administrator.
  7. In the administrative dropdown menu hover over Create Content and NGP Webform
  8. The NGP Webform creation process has multiple stages. The first screen prompts you for what kind of form you'd like to create: Volunteer, Email Sign Up or Contribute.
  9. After selecting your form type you will be taken to a page that looks like the content editor for other parts of your site.
  10. Enter the headline you wish to appear across the top of your landing page in the Title field.
  11. In the Body field enter the content you wish to appear on the left side of your page. This is where you would place your language to persuade the visitor to take action.
  12. In the tabbed panel below the first fieldset you should see is the Form Options. In the drop down under the Main Code label select the new code you just added to your Campaign Office Online.
  13. If you wish to hide the default headers or footers for the form you designated you can unselect the Show Header or Show Footer options.
  14. If you wish to have a custom thank you page you can change the Redirect URL to another page on your website. For instance you could create a static thank you message page and paste the URL for that page in the Redirect URL field. The default option will provide the standard thank you language that is used on your existing form action pages.
  15. Select the URL path settings tab. This content type is setup to have an automated path that fits this pattern: Where 123456 is the automatically generated id for this item. You can unselect the Automatic Alias button to give this page a different path like It is important that you always include the portion /landing/ before your customized path ending. The presence of landing in the URL tells our system to render the form in a custom theme to display content on the left and action fields on the right.
  16. Your form is now complete. Click Save and start spreading the word about your new page.
